Top 10 most visited places in Mussoorie are :
1. Jwala Devi Temple.
Mussoorie’s library chowk is considered as the city center of Mussoorie. Jwala Devi Temple is approximately 8 km away from library chowk and it might take 20-25 minutes for you to reach there. Jwala Devi Temple is as old as Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. According to Hindu scriptures, when Lord shiv was carrying Goddess Sati’s body, 51 pieces of her body fell on earth among which the tongue and burning clothes of the goddess fell on this temple. That’s why the sacred flame keeps burning inside the sacred cave. the description of the temple has also been made in The Mahabharata. That’s why every year during Navratri, devotees come here to visit and worship Mata Jwala Devi.
Mata Jwala Devi Temple is very much famous for its alluring valleys and you can also come here by climbing. Mata Jwala Devi Temple remains open from 5am to 12 pm and 4pm to 8pm. There is no entry fee to visit this temple. It is free of cost.
2. Lal Tibba scenic point.
Lal Tibba scenic point is approximately at a distance of 7.5 km from the library chowk and it might take you half an hour to reach there. The literal meaning of Lal Tibba is Lal Pahad which means red hill. It is the highest point of Mussoorie and the most famous place amongst the tourists. You can see the entire range of the Himalayan Mountains from the Lal Tibba scenic point. And there’s even a telescope at the roof from where you can have a closer look at the Himalayas. It is a must to enjoy trekking and horse riding nearby Lal Tibba scenic point. The timings for visiting Lal Tibba scenic point are between 8am and 8pm. The entry fee is 50 rupees per person And this place is the most amazing place for photography freaks in Mussoorie.
3. Christ Church.
Christ Church is at a distance of just 600 meters from Library Chowk.
You can also reach here by walking. Christ Church is the first catholic church of the entire Himalayan range. And it is just a little above Kasmanda Palace of Mall road. Christ Church was built in 1836 by the British community. You can plan to visit Christ Church on the day you plan to visit Mall road. And if your hotel is in Mall road then you can go to Christ church by walking. The timings for visiting this church are from 7am-6:30pm. And on Sunday, this church remains open from 8am-6:30pm. There is no entry fees to visit Christ Church. It is free of cost.

4. Camel Back Road.
Camel Back Road is approximately 3kms away from Library Chowk and you can also reach here by walking from Mussoorie Mall road. Camel Back Road is famous for its peaceful walk where along with enjoying the beauty of nature, you can also enjoy the valleys of Mussoorie. Morning jogging and Evening walk are the most famous activities to do at Camel Back Road. Camel Back Road remains open 24 hours but the best to visit this place is between 7am and 10 am. And if you want to go here in the evening then go after 5pm. There is no entry fees to go to Camel Road. It is free of cost.
5. Gun Hill Point.
Gun hill point is approximately 5-6 km away from library chowk and it will take you 20 minutes to reach there. Gun hill point is the most historic and second highest peak of Mussoorie. Gun hill point is most famous for its photography and for a 360 degree of the Himalayan range. You will be able to see Doon valley clearly from this point. Gun hill point is a very famous point of Mussoorie which is 400 ft. above Mussoorie Mall road. You can also use ropeway service to reach at Gun hill point which starts from Mussoorie Mall road. The timings of Gun hill point are from 10am to 6pm. And the entry ticket costs 75 rupees per person. If you visit there during clear weather then you will witness amazing viewpoints there.
6. Bhatta Falls.
Bhatta Falls is approximately 13kms away from Library chowk and it might take you 30-35 minutes to reach there. Bhatta Falls is a recently developed picnic spot which is located very near to Mussoorie. And today it has become a very popular tourist attraction among the tourists. Bhatta falls is a very amazing place for trekking and you will have to do trekking for a few kilometers to reach here. There’s a lot to do after reaching here. And tourists also like to come and take a bath here.
You will also find food shops at Bhatta Falls where boiled eggs, Maggi and noodles are easily available. You can also opt for the ropeway service to reach at Bhatta Falls in which a 12 seater cable car will take you to Bhatta Falls. There is no entry charge for visiting Bhatta Falls but the ropeway charges do exist. The timings to visit Bhatta Falls are from 8am to 5pm.
7. Dhanaulti.
Dhanaulti is approximately 60kms away from library chowk, Mussoorie and it might take you 2-2.5 hours to reach there. Dhanaulti is a small hill station which is situated at the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges. Dhanaulti is very much famous for its scenic beauty and natural charm. The best place to visit in Dhanaulti is the Eco Park and Devgarh Fort. The Adventure Park and Tehri Dam of Dhanaulti is also very much famous amongst the youngsters. If you are planning to go to Dhanaulti from Mussoorie then you can visit Dhanaulti and come back in one day. It’s a tourist spot developed by the Mussoorie Lake city board for tourists where you will find numerous shops for shopping, a haunted house, you can also do boating and extreme sports there which includes paragliding, KTV riding, skywalk, and zip line. The entry fee for Mussoorie Lake is 12 rupees per person. And you will have to pay separately for the parking. The timings to visit Mussoorie Lake is from 8am to 7pm.
9. Kempty Falls.
Kempty falls is approximately 14kms away from Library chowk and it might take you 35 minutes to reach there. Kempty falls is the most famous touristic spot where every year lakhs of visitors visit. You can also use ropeway service to reach Kempty Falls in which the tickets will cost 120 rupees per person for both sides. It is a must to enjoy the waterfalls of Kempty falls and you can also enjoy boating there. The timings of Kempty falls are from sunrise to sunset. And there is no ticket required to come here. Mussoorie’s Mall road is just adjacent to Library chowk. Mall road starts from Library Chowk and ends at the Picture palace which is approximately 2kms long. The best way to explore Mussoorie Mall road is by walking in which you will find souvenirs to buy for your family on both sides of the road.
