    • By Flight: Around 2 hours from Delhi to Madurai Airport. From Madurai, you can take an AC or non-AC bus or hire a cab to reach Rameswaram.
    • By Train: The journey takes about 2 days. Due to repairs on the iconic Pamban Bridge, you may need to travel to Mandapam Station (21 km from Rameswaram) and take a cab or auto from there.

    • Arrived on the auspicious day of Sawan Amavasya, which attracts a large number of pilgrims.
    • Due to the heavy crowd, transportation was challenging, and many, including myself, had to walk to reach accommodation.

    • Renting a scooter (₹700 per day) is a cost-effective way to explore the area, compared to hiring a cab which could be more expensive.

    • Dhanushkodi:

      • A popular destination about 25 km from the Rameswaram temple.
      • Known for its scenic beauty and historical significance as the place where Lord Ram is believed to have started building the Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge).
      • The journey offers views of the Dhanushkodi Lighthouse and the confluence of the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal.
      • The area is known for its strong winds and waves, making swimming dangerous.
    • Dr. Abdul Kalam’s House:

      • The childhood home of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.
      • Converted into a museum, showcasing his achievements and personal artifacts.
      • Includes a bookstore with Kalam’s books and memorabilia.
