The journey typically starts from Haridwar, a sacred city where pilgrims take a ritual dip before embarking on the pilgrimage.
Day 1: Haridwar to Barkot

Day 2: Barkot to Yamunotri Dham
Route: Barkot to Janki Chatti (45 km, 2-3 hours)
Trek: Janki Chatti to Yamunotri Dham (5-6 km, on foot, mule, pitthu, or palanquin)

Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi

Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri Dham
